Frequent travellers between Europe and the US will be delighted to learn that a new airline is set to launch this year. La Compagnie will be offering exclusive business class flights between the cities of Paris and New York.
La Compagnie is the brain-child of entrepreneur Frantz Yvelin and Peter Luethi, who have decided to create an airline for business-class travellers, all whilst offering their customers competitive fares.
La Compagnie will start off with a single plane: the Boeing 757-200 has been redesigned to be more efficient for long-haul flights and there are plans to introduce a second plane by December 2014. Inside each one of the Boeing’s 74 seats will come with its own Samsung Galaxy pro tablet, in addition to Wi-Fi being made available to passengers. In-flight menus will be the created by French Michelin star chef Christophe Langrée, with a focus on seasonal fare. Amenity kits, meanwhile, will be provided by skincare label Caudalie.
La Compagnie has recruited €30 million worth of investments, from 42 investors. It will offer customers three price brackets ranging from $1,800 to $4,600. Tickets will start selling in Europe first, as La Compagnie has yet to be given the all-clear from the US. The website, through which bookings can be made, should be up and running by July 1st.

Flights will operate between the airports of Paris Charles de Gaulle and Newark four or five times a week, and are scheduled to start on the 11th July. With less than a month to go, it's not long until lift off.
