Media company Condé Nast has reshuffled its executive ranks, appointing Anna Wintour as editorial director in the process.
Anna Wintour has been editor of American Vogue since 1988, and was appointed artistic director of Condé Nast last year. In addition to these roles, she is now taking over from Tom Wallace, who had been editorial director of Condé Nast since 2005. The company announced yesterday that Wallace and chief financial officer, John Bellando are leaving the company.
President of Condé Nast, Bob Sauerberg, will also see his responsibilities increase as he is to now oversee advertising and brand growth. The company’s C.E.O, Chuck Townsend commented on the new appointment in a statement, saying: “Anna Wintour will ensure that our content and culture remain at the forefront of our industry. Bob and I will rely on her for her insights and guidance as we build the team that will lead us into the future.”
This reshuffle comes just months before Condé Nast are due to relocate their headquarters to 1 World Trade Center, marking a step forward into the future for the company.
