Summertime at NYFW← Back

The month-long series of Fashion Weeks kicked off with New York this weekend. Designers look forward to the Spring/Summer 2015 season in a play off of shapes, colours and patterns.
Sport met luxury in Wang’s SS15 collection. Tailoring and evening-wear was cleverly juxtaposed with mesh, tennis whites and references to scuba diving as Alexander Wang once again gave sportswear a glamourous twist.
Anthony Vaccarello gave us his spin on the Versus Versace woman: "It’s an instinctive collection based on how I see the Versus girl now. She’s urban and pays attention to details. It’s based on my memories of the original Versus collections that I loved.” True to the Versus spirit, black formed the basis of the collection and was matched with gold detailing. A sensual collection, to say the least.
Victoria Beckham opted for a sleek collection for SS15. Whites, off-whites and beige took to the catwalk, interspersed with florals and stripes. Simple tailoring and calf and ankle-length dresses and skirts made for elegant lines as Victoria Beckham explored her brand identity, pushing it to new levels.
Mara Hoffman injected a dose of colour into NYFW with her swim- and beachwear. Offset by white and nude tones, bright geometric shapes reigned supreme, adorning swimsuits as well as long, flowing dresses. Hoffman’s SS15 offering is quite simply perfect for hitting the beach in style.
